Mythical Herpetology

I've been working on illustrations for a book on to depictions of reptiles and amphibians in world mythology, urban legends, and folktales.  Having lots of fun trying different styles for the different themes and subjects.

Australia's Rainbow Snake

A medieval Domenican monk, enjoying a healthy toad. . .

Ouroboros

A Shoshone myth explains the rainbow.

Spadefoot Toads come out in the rain.

A Toadstone

Voodoo Medley

An Albino Alligator of the New York sewer system.

The farmer's wife, who was a snake.

Ogres, descended from frogs, and ancestors of the Wa.

Where unicorns come from!
